Dingle Peninsula Bucket List

Feb 3, 2019

If heaven was a place on Earth it would be the Dingle Peninsula. Quiet rollings hills meet the cliffs of Slea Head where you can feel the power of the sea crashing towards you. Only to walk into a cheery stone pub where a cozy fire is roaring in the corner and you are treated like nothing short of family by those around you.

Before we found our village we were two sisters who had our hearts set on seeing every corner of this world. Now every opportunity we have to travel we spend running back to our quiet, perfect, little Ballyferriter. If we had the funds we would already own a cozy little cottage on the top of our peninsula overlooking the kingdom. So for now we have to settle for visits ever few months.

In our humble opinion there is no where on Earth that can compare to the Dingle Peninsula. Here is our bucket list:

  • Explore the abandoned Blasket Islands
  • Find ancient history waiting for you on the side of the road
  • Make friends with the one and only Fungie the Dolphin
  • Hold a baby sheep along Slead Head Drive

  • Eat your heart out at the Dingle Food Festival
  • Climb inside ancient beehive huts
  • Marvel at Ceann Sibeal, the site for the last two Star Wars movies in our very own Ballyferriter
  • Golf at the beautiful Ceann Sibeal Golf Club, have yourself a tasty lunch at the golf clubs restaurant or just stop in for a tea and scone. Honestly had the best scone of my life here.
  • Shop the dozens of places in Dingletown full of items handmade by local artisans
